Well, we officially landed in Hawaii at 4:34 am on May 11. It is so beautiful here! There are colorful lizards, beautiful flowers, clear waters and yummy food! Our condo is amazing and we love it here! Our Hawaii adventure started as we got off the plane in the Honolulu and traveled to our condo in Laie. The Hoopes and Wilkinson's are amazing and rented a 12 passenger van for us. They took us around Hawaii where we ate at the Hukilau Cafe (which was delicious!), found the LDS temple, saw BYU-H and Polynesian Cultural Center, went shopping at Costco and Walmart, got all of our stuff settled in, and then ate at Kua'Aina where we tried our first pineapple burger which turned out to be quite lovely:) The Hoopes and Wilkinson's left us around 5 pm to fly to Maui for their vacation and we decided to start our Gilmore Girls party.

The next day, we got up and went to the beach in the Turtle Bay resort (which is within the community we're staying in). On our way there, we stopped to look at a few things we can do in Turtle Bay which we found pools, tennis courts, golfing, Segways, scooters, etc. It was so amazing! The sand is very light and the water crystal clear. We could see little fish swimming around which is very unusual in comparison to California beaches. We left the beach around 3 pm and came home to eat where we had amazing pizza which we died over! It had tomatoes, funny green leaves, and this delicious white cheese that I have no clue what it's called? There are many swimming pools within Turtle Bay so we decided to go swim for a bit which turned out to be lovely. After an hour or so it was dark and the thunder and lightening started so we headed back to the condo and watched Gilmores again.

We've had a rough time adjusting to the time change and keep waking up at about 6:30 every morning--so annoying! This morning we woke up and found these little spider things all over our condo with little pincher-looking things on them. We were all freaking out so we sprayed them and tried to clean up and we're hoping that we don't see any more of them. The ants here are incredibly annoying! You can't leave anything out or you will have an infestation of them. We bought plastic containers for basically everything so we haven't had many issues with bugs in the kitchen thank heavens--now we just need to work on our rooms and bathrooms. It's so different being here because in Utah everything is so dry and there are fewer bugs, but in Hawaii there are tons of bugs with all of the humidity and they find there way into everything! Our condo is great because we have A/C, washer and dryer, plasma TV, two bathrooms, etc. It has been perfect for us! Many people that we've talked to say that they don't even have air conditioners which would be the death of me so I'm very thankful for our place:) It's been so fun!
